Job Description

Vates is a French software company specializing in Open Source and virtualization, with a strong commitment to open and collaborative development. Our main projects, Xen Orchestra and XCP-ng, cover the entire virtualization stack — from the hypervisor (Xen) and the virtualization platform (XCP-ng) to virtual machine management and backup (Xen Orchestra). Our company operates in an international environment, working fully remotely, fluent English required.

Your Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of new backend features in line with product specifications
  • Ensure corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing code
  • Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration)
  • Provide advanced technical support to users and internal teams
  • Contribute to the writing and updating of technical and user documentation
  • Ensure compliance with security, performance, and software quality standards
  • Participate in defining functional and technical specifications in collaboration with product teams
  • Contribute to the improvement of development tools, procedures, and practices

Required Skills

  • Backend development using Node.js + TypeScript
  • REST API development and integration
  • Knowledge of Database management
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline implementation
  • Knowledge of Cloud and container technologies (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)

Location

Our offices are based in Grenoble or Paris, but we operate on a fully remote model to provide greater flexibility and daily work comfort. You are free to work 100% remotely or come on-site occasionally, depending on your preferences.

Requirements

The ideal candidate profile is oriented towards candidates holding a Bachelor's degree to a Master's degree in Computer Science, software engineering, software development, or information systems. A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience. Fluent English.
