Freelance Senior Backend Engineer (Kotlin)

📍 Location: Remote (France or Germany)

💰 Day Rate: Competitive

🕒 Contract: Minimum 3 Months

My client is transforming healthcare through AI, helping frontline healthcare professionals spend less time on administration and more time caring for patients. Their technology integrates with healthcare providers across Europe, streamlining documentation and improving operational efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, build and maintain backend services using Kotlin
• Develop scalable REST APIs and system integrations
• Build interfaces between their platform and healthcare software platforms
• Design robust data models and backend architecture
• Own features from design through to deployment
• Collaborate closely with product teams, partners and customers
• Ensure integrations are reliable, scalable and easy to maintain

What They're Looking For

• Strong commercial backend development experience
• Excellent Kotlin development skills
• Experience designing and building REST APIs
• Strong experience integrating third-party systems
• Solid understanding of scalable backend architecture
• Fluent French (C1+) and strong English communication skills
• Able to commit to a minimum 3-month contract

Nice to Have

• Experience within HealthTech or regulated industries
• Experience working with complex data integrations
• Previous experience building SaaS products
