aeitos is a non-profit organization and an independent contemporary arts platform, dedicated to performance, experimental artistic practices and emerging forms of contemporary creation.

aeitos commissions and presents site-responsive artistic projects that bring together artists, curators, writers and audiences through performances, exhibitions, conversations and editorial publications.

Its inaugural edition, the prelude, will take place on the island of Patmos, Greece, from 20--22 August 2026.

Working with aeitos offers the opportunity to contribute to the launch of an international cultural institution while helping shape its digital identity from the ground up.

Role Description

aeitos is looking for a Web Development & Digital Experience Intern to particpate in the ongoing development, refinement and evolution of its website and digital ecosystem.

This is a flexible remote internship with regular online meetings and close collaboration with the founders, communications team and visual director.

Beyond technical implementation, this role focuses on crafting a digital experience that reflects aeitos' editorial vision and artistic identity. The successful candidate will help improve the website's architecture, user experience, visual coherence and performance while developing new features as the organisation grows.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve the aeitos website using Squarespace.

Build custom functionalities using HTML, CSS and JavaScript when required.

Improve website navigation, responsiveness and overall user experience.

Design new page layouts aligned with aeitos' visual identity.

Develop dedicated artist, editorial and archive pages.

Optimise website performance, accessibility and SEO.

Ensure consistency between the website and aeitos' wider digital identity.

Create or adapt graphic assets, icons and interface elements where necessary.

Collaborate with the Communications & Digital Content team to integrate editorial content.

Work alongside the founders and Visual Director on the long-term digital strategy of the organisation.

Contribute ideas for future digital projects, online publications and interactive experiences.

Qualifications

Currently studying or recently graduated in Web Development, UX/UI Design, Digital Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Creative Coding or a related discipline.

Strong knowledge of Squarespace and its customisation capabilities.

Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Experience designing intuitive and elegant digital interfaces.

Good understanding of typography, layout systems and digital visual identity.

Familiarity with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.

Understanding of responsive web design and accessibility principles.

Interest in contemporary art, architecture, editorial design and cultural institutions.

Strong attention to detail and willingness to iterate.

Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

Experience with custom code injection in Squarespace.

Basic understanding of CMS architecture.

Motion design or animation skills.

Experience creating interactive web experiences.

Knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO.

Interest in editorial publishing and digital storytelling.
