💰 Our Finance Team

The Finance team is dedicated to ensuring Joko's financial health and long-term success. Our responsibilities encompass financial planning, accounting, financing, and cash management. We ensure every euro is utilized effectively, collaborating closely with all departments to provide the insights and structure necessary for efficient scaling.

You will report directly to Benjamin, our Finance Manager, and your contributions will be vital in supporting our growth in both France and the United States.

🎯 Your Role

As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Manager on a diverse range of tasks, including operations, reporting, modeling, and strategic projects. Your scope will be broad, challenging, and offer significant learning opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the development and optimization of financial models and internal tools.
  • Participating in cross-functional projects with other teams and assisting in the preparation of internal or external audits.
  • Supporting the creation of monthly financial reports and dashboards for the executive team and investors.
  • Assisting with the monthly and annual closing processes in coordination with our external accountant.
  • Participating in tax compliance procedures (e.g., VAT, CFE, payroll taxes) and liaising with external parties (accountants, auditors, tax advisors).
  • Monitoring invoicing and cash positions to ensure effective financial flows.
  • Assisting with supplier management, cost tracking, and contract analysis to enhance our cost structure.
  • Taking ownership of recurring tasks, such as our monthly financial updates.

👀 Who We're Looking For

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree at a top-tier business or engineering school (or equivalent), with a strong interest in corporate finance, accounting, or financial strategy.
  • Experience: Prior internship or project experience in finance, accounting, audit, consulting, VC/PE, or startups is a plus, but not required.
  • Analytical & Technical Skills: Proficiency in spreadsheet software and experience with or a desire to build financial models. A solid understanding of accounting principles is essential.
  • Languages: Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Autonomy & Mindset: Rigorous, curious, and eager to learn. You enjoy tackling diverse topics and solving problems from the ground up.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with a collaborative approach to working with various stakeholders.
  • Availability: Final year of study, seeking a full-time end-of-studies internship.

🤝 Our Hiring Process

  1. Intro Call: Brief screening with the Hiring Manager or Talent team.
  2. Step 1 - Team Interview (45 min): A conversation with two Joko team members.
  3. Step 2 - Role-Specific Assessments:
    • Non-Tech Roles: A take-home case study followed by a 45-minute interview to evaluate your output and real-time problem-solving skills.
    • Tech Roles: Live technical interviews, including coding and system design.
    • Research internships may include an additional round for analyzing and presenting a research paper.
  4. Step 3 - Leadership Interview (45 min): A discussion with a SteerCo member and a Founder.
  5. References: Up to 3 calls with former colleagues or managers.
