As Akur8 continues to expand globally, we're looking for a Payroll & HR Admin Manager with strong expertise in multi-country payroll and HR operations to help improve our operational excellence and compliance across all our entities. You'll join the People team and report directly to the Chief People Officer.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities shall be to lead end-to-end payroll operations across multiple geographies, manage and develop a team of two Payroll & HR Admin Officers, and you can expect to contribute to our continuing success by:
- Ensuring payroll accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across our 8 countries (France, USA, Canada, Japan, UK, Italy, Germany and Spain), supporting a fast-growing international team of 240+ employees.
- Building scalable, robust HR admin processes that keep pace with our international growth.
- Delivering a seamless employee experience through smooth onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day admin.
- In collaboration with our HR team, driving compliance with all employment and labor laws across the full employee lifecycle.
- Strengthening the partnership between the People and Finance teams through reliable data flows and reporting.
- Serving as the go-to expert and escalation point on all payroll and HR admin matters.
Team Management
- Manage, coach, and develop two direct reports based in Paris and Montreal.
- Organize workload, set priorities, and ensure consistency of processes across the two offices.
- Act as the escalation point for complex or sensitive cases.
Payroll
- Own and oversee end-to-end payroll operations for all entities (France, USA, Canada, Japan, Italy, Germany & UK).
- Review and validate payroll inputs and ensure all social and statutory declarations are filed accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with external payroll providers and benefits vendors.
- Monitor payroll-related compliance and stay updated on labor law and tax regulations.
- Partner closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate payroll accounting entries.
HR Administration
- Oversee HR admin processes for the full employee lifecycle.
- Ensure data integrity across all HR systems and tools.
- Oversee employee benefits selection and administration.
- Coordinate with external legal and compliance advisors as needed.
Process & Projects
- Identify and drive process improvement initiatives to ensure scalability.
- Support HRIS optimization and data quality initiatives.
- Contribute to internal audits, compliance reviews, and administrative requirements.
- Play an active role in Akur8's AI transformation journey within the People team.
Tech Stack
Payfit, Justworks, Deel, Google Workspace / Excel, Dust, Jira.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in payroll and HR administration, including at least 2 years in a managerial or team lead role.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Payroll, HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in a fast-scaling SaaS or tech company.
- Strong, hands-on expertise in French & International payroll, social declarations, and labor law compliance.
- Comfortable working with external payroll providers and accounting partners.
- Extremely organized, rigorous, and detail-oriented.
- Fully fluent in French and English.
- Must possess an employment status that will allow work from our offices in France.
