Job Description

Zettabyte is looking for a Product Owner Apprentice to support product planning, requirement clarification, backlog preparation, functional testing, and coordination between customers, business stakeholders, and the production team.

In this role, you will learn how customer needs and business problems are translated into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, priorities, and delivery actions.

You will work closely with experienced team members to organise product information, support backlog management, participate in product discussions, test delivered features, document feedback, and follow up on product-related actions.

This apprenticeship is suitable for a student who wants to gain practical experience in product ownership, Agile delivery, SaaS product development, stakeholder communication, and ERP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the management, organisation, and prioritisation of the product backlog

• Assist in collecting and understanding customer, user, and business requirements

• Translate business needs into clear and structured product requirements

• Draft user stories, acceptance criteria, task descriptions, and supporting documentation

• Ask for clarification when requirements, priorities, or expected outcomes are incomplete

• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint preparation, and product-related meetings

• Support communication between customers, business stakeholders, and the production team

• Help ensure that requirements are clearly understood before development begins

• Track product requests, decisions, dependencies, risks, and follow-up actions

• Support functional testing of delivered features and product changes

• Compare delivered functionality against the agreed requirements and acceptance criteria

• Identify and document functional issues, gaps, bugs, and unclear behaviour

• Prepare testing notes, validation reports, meeting summaries, and product documentation

• Collect and organise feedback from customers, users, and internal stakeholders

• Support the validation of completed features before release or handover

• Assist with roadmap execution and product-priority follow-up

• Maintain clear, structured, and up-to-date product documentation

• Communicate progress, blockers, risks, and clarification needs to the responsible team member

• Contribute to continuous improvement of product and delivery processes

Expected Experience Level

This apprenticeship is suitable for:

• Students or final-year students interested in product ownership, product management, SaaS, ERP, or software delivery

• Candidates studying business, information systems, technology, project management, engineering, digital products, or another relevant field

• Candidates seeking practical experience in Agile product development and stakeholder coordination

• Candidates eligible to enter into an apprenticeship contract in France

Previous professional experience as a Product Owner is not required.

Mandatory Requirements

• Professional proficiency in French, both spoken and written

• English proficiency at an upper B2 or C1 CEFR level

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to understand business needs and organise information clearly

• Ability to write structured notes, requirements, and documentation

• Strong attention to detail and discipline in following up on assigned actions

• Good organisational and prioritisation skills

• Ability to ask clear questions when information is incomplete or unclear

• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal teams

• Ability to receive feedback and revise work accordingly

• Practical problem-solving mindset

• Ability to manage assigned responsibilities with an appropriate level of independence

• Willingness to learn about Agile delivery, product ownership, software testing, and ERP products

• Comfortable working in an international and fast-moving environment

Preferred Skills

• Basic understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or software-development processes

• Familiarity with product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria

• Basic understanding of functional software testing

• Experience from academic, personal, volunteer, or internship projects involving product or project coordination

• Experience documenting requirements, workflows, processes, or user needs

• Familiarity with Jira, YouTrack, Trello, Notion, Confluence, or similar tools

• Basic understanding of SaaS, ERP, EdTech, or B2B software environments

• Exposure to customer communication, business analysis, or project management

• Experience preparing reports, presentations, process diagrams, or structured documentation

• Basic understanding of user experience, workflows, and business processes
