We are building the quick-service dining industry of tomorrow. Our technology empowers kitchens to efficiently manage operations, including product availability, hours, and multiple digital brands across various platforms from a single interface. For HQ, we manage menus, kitchen lifecycles, operational data, supply catalogs, and logistics integrations. We also offer proprietary sales funnels: a custom Click & Collect, a Kiosk, and a Point of Sale app, all developed in-house and NF525 certified.

Our backend systems, built on the cloud using a mix of serverless and event-driven architectures, power all these capabilities. We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our backend team and contribute to building robust, scalable, and performant systems. You will design architectures, implement features in collaboration with the product team, and participate in ongoing tech intelligence to keep our stack current.

Your Role 🤝

As a Senior Backend Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

System Design & Engineering

• Designing architectures, from software (Python) to infrastructure (GCP).
• Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Participating in technical discussions regarding tech intelligence and coding best practices.

Product & Delivery

• Owning complex features end-to-end, working closely with Frontend and Product teams.
• Collaborating with HQ teams (Marketing, Operations, Sales, Supply) who are your clients.
• Ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.

AI & Innovation

• Integrating Generative AI into your daily work.
• Maintaining a strong hands-on coding approach and knowing when to challenge AI-generated code.
• Mentoring junior team members and gaining a comprehensive understanding of our codebase and features.

Our Stack 🛠️

• Languages/Frameworks: Python 3, FastAPI, Gunicorn/Uvicorn (aSGI)
• Databases: SQL (SQLAlchemy), Firestore (GCP clients), DuckDB (POC)
• Cloud/Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (primarily serverless services like Cloud Run), Grafana, Sentry, GitHub
• DevOps/Security: Custom CICD and monitoring, Keycloak, Dependency Track, SonarQube

What We're Looking For ✅

Experience

• 6 years of backend development experience, specifically in Python.
• Experience with a public Cloud Provider.
• Knowledge of asynchronous design, SQL, and NoSQL systems.
• Familiarity with at least one monitoring and observability platform.
• Comfort in coding with LLM-assisted tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).

Technical Skills

• Solid experience with GCP (or similar cloud platforms).
• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, and asynchronous systems.
• Experience with monitoring, performance optimization, and system reliability.

AI & Modern Tooling

• Experience coding with LLM-assisted tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot).
• Interest in integrating AI into backend systems and workflows.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and system capabilities.
