- VENTURE CAPITAL INTERN
About
United Founders is a pan-European early-stage venture capital fund backing exceptional founders from day one. We are generalist by design, with a strong focus on AI, deep tech, and breakthrough technologies. We invest in ambitious founders building category-defining companies across Europe and beyond.
Launched in November 2025, United Founders has already built rare early momentum: two unicorns from our first five investments.
We invest at pre-seed and seed, typically writing cheques from €100k to €1M, and aim to lead or co-lead rounds where we can bring conviction, speed, and meaningful support.
Our edge is not only capital. United Founders is backed by 100 accomplished founders and operators, including 7 unicorn founders. They are not passive LPs. They have invested their capital, and they also give their time, network, and operating experience to support our portfolio founders — from fundraising and hiring to go-to-market, strategy, international expansion, and company building.
We are a small, high-conviction, high-output team. We move fast, write our own memos, make decisions directly, and stay close to founders.
As our analyst intern, you will work directly with Maxime Paradis, Co-Founder & Managing Partner — Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe, entrepreneur, investor, and faculty at HEC Paris.
No layers. No corporate filter. Direct exposure to real investment decisions.
Job Description
We are hiring one Venture Capital Analyst Intern in Paris.
This is not a narrow research internship. It is a full-stack VC role where you will be exposed to the entire investment process: sourcing, screening, market research, due diligence, investment committee memos, portfolio support, LP research, founder support, and fund operations.
Your work will not sit in a folder. It will be used to make real decisions.
You will meet founders, attend startup events, analyze companies, build investment theses, contribute to memos, support portfolio companies, and help build United Founders from the inside.
This role is built for someone who wants the real version of early-stage venture capital: intense, fast-moving, ambiguous, intellectually demanding, and deeply connected to the startup ecosystem.
Be clear-eyed about the pace. We are a young fund with high ambitions. The work can be intense, hours can be long, and many of the best startup events happen in the evening. This is not a 9-to-5 internship.
But for the right person, it is a rare seat: direct access, real ownership, and a steep learning curve from day one.
What You'll Do
- Source exceptional founders: Identify promising startups, sectors, founders, and emerging themes across Europe. You will use tools such as Harmonic, Specter, Crunchbase, Dealroom, LinkedIn, Attio, AI agents, and your own network to build high-quality dealflow.
- Represent United Founders in the ecosystem: Attend startup events, demo days, university events, founder dinners, and investor gatherings in Paris. Many of the best opportunities start with a conversation before they ever become a deck.
- Screen inbound opportunities: Review startup decks and inbound opportunities, assess fit with our mandate, and help decide which companies deserve deeper work.
- Run Market And Company Research: Build market maps, analyze competitive landscapes, assess business models, understand technical differentiation, and identify key risks and opportunities.
- Support due diligence: Prepare questions, coordinate expert and reference calls, analyze founder-market fit, pressure-test assumptions, and synthesize findings into clear recommendations.
- Draft investment memos: Turn research and diligence into sharp, structured, decision-ready investment committee memos.
- Build investment theses: Help us identify where the next category-defining companies may emerge: AI infrastructure, frontier AI, deep tech, robotics, defense, climate, health, fintech, developer tools, vertical software, industrial transformation, and other breakthrough sectors.
- Support portfolio founders: Track company progress and help founders with specific needs: hiring, fundraising preparation, investor mapping, market research, customer introductions, strategic thinking, and access to the United Founders LP network.
- Activate our founder LP network: Help connect portfolio founders with relevant LPs, operators, experts, and unicorn founders in our network. You will help make our LP base a real operating advantage for the companies we back.
- Own the CRM and internal data: Keep our Attio pipeline clean, enriched, and decision-ready. You will help ensure that every company, founder, investor, LP, and interaction is properly tracked.
- Help build the fund: Contribute to LP research, ecosystem mapping, events, internal processes, content, community, and ad hoc strategic projects. In a small fund, everyone helps build the machine.
