Senior Python Engineer - B2C App

Responsibilities

In this role, you will build and evolve backend systems that power a high-scale mobile-first social platform, focusing on speed, reliability, and user impact.

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL) powering mobile applications
• Work in an experimentation-driven environment, shipping features quickly and iterating based on user feedback and data
• Design and optimize scalable backend architectures using asynchronous and event-driven patterns
• Collaborate closely with iOS, Android, Product, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Improve system performance, reliability, and observability across production services
• Contribute to technical decisions with a pragmatic, product-focused mindset
• Support data-driven product development through analytics and experimentation feedback loops
• Participate in the evolution of backend systems while avoiding over-engineering
• Ensure smooth integration between services, messaging systems, and databases
• Actively contribute to shaping a strong engineering and product culture

Requirements

This role requires strong backend engineering expertise, a product-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, experimental environments.

• Strong backend development experience with Python (asyncio) and SQL databases
• Proven experience designing and scaling APIs and distributed or event-driven systems
• Solid understanding of messaging systems and asynchronous architectures
• Experience working in B2C or consumer-facing product environments is highly desirable
• Strong problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, results-oriented approach
• Comfortable working with analytics, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional, mobile-first teams
• Fluency in English and French is mandatory
• 5 to 10 years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments is a strong plus
• Interest in AI/ML or consumer experimentation is a bonus
