Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs supporting core platform functionalities
- Own the implementation and delivery of new features, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Manage production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous optimization
- Integrate external services and third-party APIs into the platform ecosystem
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Define and promote engineering best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines
- Document technical solutions clearly through diagrams, code comments, and supporting materials
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to onboarding and knowledge sharing initiatives
- Occasionally support frontend-related tasks to ensure seamless feature delivery
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing and building scalable backend systems in production environments
- Strong proficiency in Go and solid understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational database design (e.g., PostgreSQL)
- Familiarity with modern backend technologies such as gRPC, Redis, or message queues
- Basic understanding of frontend technologies and ability to contribute when needed
- Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and containerized environments like Kubernetes
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and ownership-driven mindset
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams
- Curiosity for new technologies, including AI-powered development tools, and a willingness to experiment
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience is a plus
- Based in Europe (including the UK) with valid work authorization
