Gulf Associates
Data Operations Assistant
Résumé du poste
Modèle de travail
We are looking for a Data Operations Assistant to support our firm as we advise a French industrial group based in Lyon on its commercial choices and partnership structures. This role focuses on the practical side of information management: ensuring that the data we use to form commercial judgments is accurate, well-structured, and ready for senior review. As a fully remote team member, you will assist our partners in gathering the information needed to help this client navigate complex decisions regarding capital deployment and local partnerships in the territory.
What you will do
- Collect and organize market intelligence relevant to the Lyon-based industrial group and its sector.
- Maintain internal databases that track counterparty behavior and competitor activity across different regions.
- Assist in the preparation of clear, data-backed briefs for client negotiations and regulator meetings.
- Verify data points against primary sources to ensure commercial accuracy and ground reality.
- Format datasets to make them easy for partners to analyze during live discussions with client executives.
- Track the progress of specific operational milestones for ongoing client projects and capital moves.
- Research local market conditions to provide context for high-stakes investment decisions.
- Identify inconsistencies in information provided by external sources and flag them for senior review.
What you bring
- A strong sense of commercial curiosity and an interest in how complex deals are structured.
- Excellent attention to detail: you notice when a number or a name does not match across different documents.
- Strong English language skills with the ability to summarize information in plain, direct words.
- Basic proficiency with data tools, particularly spreadsheets and information management software.
- A disciplined work ethic suited for a fully remote role where you govern your own schedule.
- The ability to follow specific research instructions while asking clarifying questions when data is ambiguous.
- A background in business, economics, or a related field of study through school or personal projects.
- A preference for clear facts and evidence over corporate jargon or theoretical models.
What we offer
- Attractive and competitive pay for an entry-level role with clear professional expectations.
- A fully remote work arrangement that values focus and individual output.
- Involvement in high-stakes projects involving sovereign entities and major commercial investors.
- Direct exposure to the thinking and decision-making processes of senior partners.
Working at Gulf Associates
Gulf Associates is a firm that values honesty and directness in everything we do. We do not produce thick reports just for the sake of volume: we provide positions that our clients can actually use in a negotiation or a boardroom. Our culture is built on the idea that outcomes matter more than the volume of documents created. You will be part of a small, focused team where every piece of data you organize has a direct link to a client decision. We believe in high standards and clear communication, maintaining a quiet but intense focus on the commercial reality of the markets where we operate. This is an environment for those who prefer substance and professional judgment over consultancy fluff.
