Description du poste

We are recruiting a Data Analyst Associate to support our research and internal modeling efforts. This role sits within a small team currently advising a national telecommunications provider on strategic partnership decisions and capital deployment. We value evidence based positions over pure theory: your job will be to organize the data that helps our senior partners advise clients during critical negotiations. This is a fully remote, permanent position designed for someone early in their career who wants to understand the commercial logic behind major infrastructure and service investments. At Gulf Associates, we focus on the reality of how deals get made, and our data analysis reflects that practical focus.

What you will do

  • Collect and organize market data concerning the activities of regional telecom operators and their competitors.
  • Clean and verify data sets to ensure senior advisers are working with accurate, reliable information.
  • Create clear spreadsheets and visualizations to explain complex market trends to the team.
  • Monitor counterparty behavior and update our internal databases with real time developments.
  • Assist in drafting research memos that connect raw numbers to the ground reality of the market.
  • Verify the accuracy of every figure used in final client presentations and advisory documents.
  • Collaborate with the research team via remote channels to meet deadlines for active engagements.
  • Support the development of scenario models for joint ventures and new market entry decisions.

What you bring

  • Strong numeracy and a logical approach to solving complex problems.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet tools like Excel or Google Sheets, including basic formulas and data organization.
  • Clear and concise writing skills to summarize findings for senior partners and clients.
  • A high degree of attention to detail when managing large or messy data sets.
  • Commercial curiosity regarding how businesses grow, invest, and operate in competitive markets.
  • The discipline to work effectively in a remote setting and handle your own task list.
  • The ability to ask the right questions when project requirements or data sources are unclear.
  • Basic understanding of how to present data visually to make information easy to digest.

What we offer

  • Direct exposure to high stakes commercial decisions and senior partner mentorship.
  • Fully remote working environment that allows you to manage your work from your chosen location.
  • A paid position with competitive compensation tailored to the entry level market and role.
  • The chance to work on substantive projects, such as our ongoing advisory for a national telecommunications provider.
  • A professional atmosphere that values specific commercial judgment over generic corporate theory.

Working at Gulf Associates

Our firm prioritizes commercial judgment over theoretical reports. While many consultancies focus on abstract models: we look at how counterparties and regulators actually behave in the territory. This means our work is grounded in reality and supported by evidence. As a remote team: we communicate directly and honestly. We do not value long hours for their own sake: we value accuracy and the ability to produce a position that a client can act on. We hold a small book of active engagements to ensure the work stays focused and high quality. You will find that we are comfortable being measured on the results that follow our advice. We expect every associate on our team to contribute to this culture of clarity and evidence based decision support.
