About your team and your mission

As a member of a team of 8 BDRs split between France and the USA, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and generating new business opportunities, as well as nurturing marketing qualified leads. You will be responsible for building relationships with prospects, qualifying their needs, and collaborating with internal and external resources to grow revenue.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation: Work from various channels such as cold calling, email campaigns, social media, networking, and events to identify potential leads and generate new business opportunities.
  • Qualification and Discovery: Conduct thoughtful research to understand prospect's industry, pain points, and business needs. Engage in conversations to qualify leads, identify decision-makers, and gather relevant information.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with potential customers through effective communication, active listening, and understanding their unique requirements.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handover of qualified leads and provide valuable insights to enhance the sales process.
  • Sales Outreach: Execute strategic inbound and outbound sales activities to engage prospects and set up meetings or product demonstrations for the sales team.
  • Pipeline Management: Update and maintain accurate records of lead interactions, progress, and status in our customer relationship management (CRM) system (Bonus Points if you have experience with HubSpot!).
  • Market Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and market changes to identify new opportunities and optimize sales strategies.

About you

Here's what we consider essential for success in this role:

  • Strong German fluency, to grow our German territory (in addition to other European territories).
  • Reasonable English fluency.
  • Previous experience in a sales, business development, or lead generation role is highly desirable. Familiarity with automation tools to build and manage multi-step outreach campaigns.
  • Cold calling experience: demonstrated ability to generate pipeline mainly through phone outbound.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage prospects and articulate product features and benefits effectively.
  • Ability to overcome adversity: resilience when not achieving quota.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage a high volume of leads effectively.
  • Ability to Travel: Approximately 20%.

The following skills would strengthen your application but aren't required:

  • Understanding the Enterprise SaaS sales cycle, which is consultative.
  • Experience addressing developers and/or cybersecurity ICPs.

Note: If you are based outside of France, we will contract with you through our EOR partner under a permanent contract for your country.

1. Video call with a Talent Acquisition team member (30min)

  • Purpose: Get to know you, discuss your past experiences, present GitGuardian, its mission, and answer your questions.
  • Skills Assessed: Soft skills like drive and communication.

2. Interview with your future manager (60min)

  • Purpose: Discuss your past experiences, what you've sold, and your understanding of your current landscape. Understand your BDR skill sets, former KPIs, and ability to achieve them.
  • Skills Assessed: Soft skills (ownership, communication), motivation, and understanding of your current problem space and ability to perform at a high level.

3. Business case with your future manager and an Account Executive (60 min)

  • Purpose: Evaluate your ability to learn autonomously and engage in high-level discussions about a technical product. Meet additional colleagues (AEs) you may be supporting and ensure comfortable working dynamics.
  • Skills Assessed: Ability to apply learned knowledge, engage in "real-world scenarios," think quickly, and respond appropriately.

4. Final interview with the VP of Sales and our co-founder (30min)

  • Purpose: Meet your department head and gain insight into GitGuardian's leadership. Align with another stakeholder to validate your decision and our assessment of your capabilities.
  • Skills Assessed: Grit, internal motivators, resilience.
