Our client is a fast-growing digital assets and financial technology business building institutional-grade infrastructure for global financial markets. Operating at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets, the firm provides liquidity solutions, trading services, treasury management, and market infrastructure to institutional clients globally.
The business operates in a highly dynamic and evolving environment, with a strong focus on transparency, scalability, operational excellence, and robust financial controls.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to hire a Senior Financial Controller to join their finance team in Paris.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Controller will play a key role in overseeing the monthly and annual financial reporting process across multiple international entities, while supporting wider group consolidation activities.
This position offers broad exposure across financial reporting, controls, regulatory matters, and strategic finance initiatives within a rapidly expanding international business.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across finance and the wider organisation, alongside external auditors, advisers, and regulatory partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts for multiple group entities
- Support the group consolidation process for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Ensure all financial transactions and reporting are completed within a strong internal controls framework
- Manage bank accounts and cash flow activities, including payables and receivables oversight
- Review and approve payments and financial transactions in line with "four-eyes" control principles
- Develop, enhance, and document accounting policies and operational procedures
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax obligations across relevant jurisdictions
- Support regulatory and licensing applications where required
- Lead year-end statutory reporting and external audit processes
- Liaise with external auditors, advisers, and tax providers
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and broader business growth projects
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified French Accountant (DSCG, DEC, or equivalent French accounting qualification required)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Financial Control or similar role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including French GAAP and IFRS
- Experience managing external audit engagements
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance environments within financial services
- Experience with VAT reporting and French R&D tax claims would be advantageous
- Strong accounting systems experience, ideally NetSuite
- Advanced Excel and/or Google Workspace skills
- Fluent English communication skills are essential
