Description du poste

Chemistry Specialist (Masters/PhDs) - AI Training

About The Role

What if your expertise in organic synthesis, computational modeling, or inorganic chemistry could directly shape how AI reasons through some of science's hardest problems? We're looking for Chemistry specialists with advanced degrees to help train cutting-edge AI models --- designing complex, rigorous problems that push the boundaries of what AI can understand and solve.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for working scientists and researchers. No AI background needed --- just deep chemistry knowledge and a sharp, analytical mind.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10--40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop advanced chemistry problems with real-world scientific relevance across organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry
  • Solve and critically review complex problem sets to ensure scientific accuracy, depth, and rigor
  • Apply domain expertise to challenge and refine AI model reasoning in meaningful ways
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts
  • Evaluate AI-generated chemistry content for correctness, clarity, and scientific integrity
  • Work independently on task-based assignments --- fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Deep expertise in one or more areas: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry
  • Comfortable with Python or computational chemistry tools such as Gaussian or VASP
  • Exceptionally precise and detail-oriented --- you catch what others miss
  • Strong written communicator who can explain complex concepts clearly
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows
  • Background in academic research or scientific publishing
  • Experience designing problem sets, exams, or curriculum in chemistry
  • Familiarity with machine learning or AI as it applies to scientific modeling

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible --- work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons through science
  • Put your advanced degree to work on problems that actually matter
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
